Citizens 4 Change is a dedicated advocacy to empower citizens through education and voter registration.
The time is right for this organization to take hold in our local communities in the Morongo Basin to promote neighborhood involvement with the power to vote for changes.
This website will serve as a bulletin board providing information and links to your community events and updates on upcoming local issues.
Please check back with this website for updates and reports on local decisions that will have an impact on your community.
For the moment, Citizens 4 Change website will be parked at my personal website to kick start this important movement.
I invite you to send me news of your community to post on your community page. Please send me any comments or suggestions as this website will be dedicated to this community. Your email address will NEVER be posted on this website and will remain confidential.
The goal is to empower our citizens with knowledge and education to become involved in the decisions facing our elected leaders and hold them accountable.
Recent important issues:
There is a an unfunded mandate to install sewers for the residents of Yucca Valley with the City of Twentynine Palms also on the radar of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board. There was an outreach to the residents of Joshua Tree for a proposed gaming casino that has met resistance....will this come to a vote of the citizens?
Some important questions:
-Is it time for Yucca Valley to move towards District Representation? -Should Joshua Tree MAC look into becoming a city or town? -Will the Homestead Valley form a Special District to include the Yucca Mesa? -How will Twentynine Palms fund their sewer system and fire department? -Is it time for all water boards to consolidate as one board as suggested by Assemblyman Paul Cook on October 6th in the Desert Trail newspaper?
There are many issues and questions that need answers. The first thing is to bring each community together to discuss their local issues and seek the answers by collective reasoning and the power of their vote.
Citizens 4 Change will conduct educational meetings to help ALL citizens with their concerns. There will be open discussions on how to fill out a speaker card and one-on-one assistance with any speech or "Letter to the Editor" to voice your opinion. Special meetings will be held to discuss the upcoming agendas by a neutral moderator and inviting elected officials to hold "Town Hall Meetings" with their constituents.
This is not a new idea and has spread across our country as citizens have come together to make their voice, and vote count.
Citizens 4 Change has NO party affiliation. The time is now to empower the citizens with knowledge, increase voter registration and hold our elected leaders accountable to serve the citizens. The time is now for transparency in our government and to do away with any cronyism.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and all suggestions are welcomed.
